It has just been over a year since my first experience of the hospitality of Joey and Alicia within their home. They had me over for a farewell dinner before I left to Dubai and up until today the warmth and their hospitality still lingers within me. (Joey is the Guest relations manager at the hotel I used to work at and is and has always been an absolute legend...)
Prior to me arriving in S.A Joey and I plugged into our calendar the offered return to their home on my first holiday back in S.A. Mariette and I were warmly welcomed from the cold wintery rainy air into Joey and Alicia's beautiful home which had a most welcoming roaring fire going.
This awesome couple pulled out all the stops and spoilt Mariette and I with their delectable dishes. I hate to single out dishes when all the courses were worth shouting about however the fish curry made especially with me in mind was out of this world and to top off the evening Joey whipped up a quickly made warm sorji after our mains.Joey and Alicia are such an awesome team and they entertain with such grace,charm and ease.
The evening was topped off with a nightcap which was a dessert wine and then we were on our merry way with a little takeaway box too!!!!
I went home on an absolute high feeling oh so grateful for humble and beautiful souls.
